Fixed term through to April 2020 

Kia ora…and welcome to a role where you will spend your time within the beautiful surrounds of Queenstown, with the best of native flora, bird-life, magnificent lake and mountain views while being part of a passionate, energetic, supportive and fun team.

Summer is on its way (yay!) and we're on the hunt for a Hiking Guide - an adventurous soul who loves nature, hard work and good times who can provide a safe, informative and entertaining guiding service for our manuhiri (guests).

Guided Walks New Zealand offers a variety of guided walks into the spectacular and captivating landscape of Queenstown and Fiordland. From half day to full day adventures - as well as the popular three-day/two-night Hollyford Track guided walk and NZ Snowshoe. This role will see you deliver an enthusiastic, entertaining and informative interpretation of the history, geology, flora and fauna of the region to manuhiri (guests).

This is a fixed term position based in Queenstown.

A little bit about you

We are looking for someone who: 

  • Is a natural born entertainer and can deliver amazing experiences to our manuhiri
  • holds a P Endorsement licence (essential) and class 2 (desirable) 
  • Loves the outdoors and is physically fit
  • Knows a lot about our flora and fauna, and local history
  • keeps cool under pressure
  • Is able to work shifts on weekdays, weekends and public holidays
  • Is open to learning about Ngāi Tahu culture and stories

Anything could happen in a day - we need someone who is excited and challenged by a varied to-do list!
