Human Connections Group has partnered exclusively with Queenstown Airport Corporation for the appointment of a Senior Planner based at Queenstown Airport. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Planner to join the Property & Planning team.

The Role:

The role will report to the General Manager Property & Planning, with its focus on contributing to, developing and advocating Queenstown Airports’ position within regulatory and legislative policy contexts.  The role also is responsible for representing QAC in regional planning initiatives including urban planning and land transport forums. You will provide resource management and statutory planning advice and support in relation to all planning issues of the airports, be responsible for the interface with internal and external stakeholders as well as driving continuous improvement within the team. 


Skills & Attributes Required:

As a senior planner you will enjoy being hands-on and as such this role will suit someone with a Resource Management Act (RMA) planning or legal background with the following skills and attributes:

  • A tertiary qualification, ideally in Resource Management Planning, Environmental Law or similar
  • 7+ years’ experience in a similar role in New Zealand or in an aligned overseas planning system
  • Experience with and understanding of NZ legislation, legal frameworks policy, processes and practices associated with statutory planning
  • Ability to independently manage own workload as well as proactively identifying priority areas
  • Airport planning experience is ideal but not essential.

You will have well developed interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills, a proactive focus and an ability to deal with people at all levels. You will enjoy a challenge, be able to multi-task, think strategically and succeed in delivering your objectives.
