Receptionist, Ramada Queenstown Central
We have a Receptionist position available which is part-time time (30 - 40 hours per week).
The successful applicant will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with perfectly fluent English.
Previous experience with a hotel property management system (i.e. Opera, RoomMaster) is a preferred requirement for this position and a minimum of one year’s experience in a similar role is also preferable.
The applicant will be well organized, have excellent time management skills and attention to detail. Competent computer skills and experience with cloud-based IT systems including Gmail, Dropbox, Google Drive and Xero will be particularly useful.
Priority will be given to applicants who are able to work weekends and outside normal business hours (i.e. after 5 pm)
As a Hotel Receptionist, you should combine a pleasant personality with a dynamic professional attitude to deal efficiently with guests and any challenges presented with a solid customer service approach.
Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our front desk provides professional and friendly service to our customers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Ensure front desk is tidy and has all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and informative leaflets, brochures etc.
Ensure timely and accurate customer service
Monitor stock and order office supplies
Ensure proper mail and email distribution
Handle complaints and specific customers’ requests
Reconcile the daily housekeeping rooms matrix provided by our contracted cleaning company to ensure accuracy.
Ensure the company’s policies and health and safety requirements are met
Perform related Hotel Front Office duties as required.
Conduct daily briefing with the Housekeeping Manager to coordinate the special requests, the priorities of the day, which amenities need to be replenished in the office, items available or that need to be ordered, which rooms need maintenance and assist the preparation of the reports before to be given to the housekeeping staff
Report to the General Manager when any maintenance is needed and contact the contractors to organize the services. Keep data records of the maintenance services updated on the system.
Proven front desk work experience. Only candidates with a minimum of at least 2 years front desk experience will be
Hands-on experience with office machines (e.g. computers and printers)
Thorough knowledge of customer service, office management and hotel procedures.
Proficiency in English (oral and written) Second language an advantage.
Solid knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word
Proficient with hotel PMS systems such as Opera, RoomMaster (the latter especially relevant).
Excellent communication and people skills
Good organizational and multitasking abilities
Residential property management experience an advantage.
High School diploma; additional certification, especially in hospitality, is a plus.
