Sherwood is Queenstown's only Two Hat Restaurant with a focus on sustainability, seasonality & exceptional hospitality. We grow our own organic veges on site in the NZ's most scenic gardens and our menu changes regularly to showcase the seasonal produce. We are looking for experienced Duty Managers/ Food & Beverage Supervisors to join our talented team.

This is a full time role, minimum 30 hours per week, maximum 50 hours. Pay rate between $28.00-$32.00 per hour across a 7 day roster depending on experience.

Your location of work would be 554 Frankton Road Queenstown.

Key Accountabilities

  • Team Leadership:
    o Supervise, train, and motivate front-of-house staff to provide exceptional service.
    o Schedule and coordinate staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours. o Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates and foster teamwork.
  • Guest Satisfaction:
    o Greet and interact with guests to ensure a positive dining experience.
    o Address guest inquiries, feedback, and concerns promptly and professionally.
    o Monitor service quality and staff performance to maintain high guest satisfaction levels.
  • Operational Excellence:
    o Assist in the daily opening and closing procedures of the venue.
    o Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
    o Oversee the seating of guests and the allocation of tables efficiently.
  • Financial Management:
    o Assist in controlling operational costs and monitoring inventory levels.
    o Collaborate with the management team to achieve revenue and profitability targets. o Handle cash and payments accurately and in compliance with venue policies.
  • Quality Control:
    o Monitor the presentation and quality of food and beverages served.
    o Ensure compliance with established recipes and portion sizes.
    o Report any issues with equipment or facilities to the maintenance team.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations. o Assist in staff training on safety protocols.
    Address and report any safety concerns promptly.

Flexibility in work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Skills & Experience
These are the desired skills and experience for this role:

  • Proven experience as a restaurant supervisor or in a similar supervisory role.

  • License Controller Qualification or General Manager certificate would be favorable.

  • Proven understanding of food and beverage service standards.

  • Basic understanding of restaurant financials and cost control.
