Tourism is booming.
Every year, New Zealand’s international visitor numbers keep increasing, creating more demand for the industry. It’s forecasted that by 2025 there will 36,000 new tourism jobs across the country – and Queenstown represents a huge portion of this figure!
Go with Tourism is a custom-built, innovative solution to address this challenge head on.
The online platform, dubbed “Tinder for tourism” by media outlet Newsroom, offers a game-changing new approach to job search and recruitment – and is changing perceptions for the better.
Since its launch in Auckland in April 2019, Go with Tourism has found great success and in August was awarded $5.2 million from the Government’s new International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy to go nationwide.
In October, the Queenstown Lakes district was the second destination to adopt the initiative.
How it benefits the jobseeker
Creating an online profile is free and takes less than five minutes to fill out. It does not require previous job experience or a CV to be uploaded – it is designed to highlight the candidate’s personality, current skillset and their potential as an employee. Candidates are also able to update their online profile as they progress through their education or career.
Profiles on Go with Tourism are then ‘matched’ with registered employers when they have positions available that will suit the candidate.
Traditional recruitment methods have been thrown out the window to allow personality to shine through as the most important trait, giving those who are new to the workforce – or returning – a better chance at finding employment.
How it benefits the recruiter
Unlike job boards where you just post jobs, and job seekers view jobs, Go with Tourism makes it simple for employers to register once and be matched with suitable candidates. The employer can contact those that they wish to interview.
It is also designed with filters that give you the power to find the perfect candidate. Search by type of work, qualification, work experience, drivers licence, eligibility and so much more.
With Go with Tourism, there’s no need to post adverts on job boards and pay lots of money. Say goodbye to those CVs filling up your inbox too. You can choose who you see, and who you want to contact. Recruit as you need by searching for what you want, when you want!
By registering with Go with Tourism, you will join more than 70 businesses in the Queenstown Lakes district who are already attracting amazing new talent.
