Landscape Gardener

At Wakatipu Landscaping we have been servicing Queenstown and surrounds with all aspects of gardening maintenance, one off jobs and landscape construction for almost 20 years.

The successful candidate will be a key player in our gardening maintenance team and service properties large and small across the region. Day to day operations is varied but most jobs are on a re-occurring roster, you will be trained on the subtleties of these, and you will eventually be able to work alone and unsupervised, while reporting to your manager frequently with progress, concerns etc. Ideally, we are seeking a candidate who has landscape construction experience but who is happy to turn his/her hand to a large volume of general gardening work. Spring season involves a lot of lawn mowing, summer and autumn involve lawn mowing, hedges/trees and winter is mainly hedges/trees, landscape construction.

 Queenstown is the best place in the country to be working outdoors. We are a friendly team and enjoy good relations with customers and the public. We normally stick to an 8am - 5pm working day Monday to Friday but can be flexible depending on job timing and workload. This role will be an enjoyable mix of working closely with the team and working alone. Work vehicle provided once able to work alone. Pay is competitive and growth within the company will depend on what the candidate can bring in skills and attitude.

Experience with heavy gardening machinery including brush cutters, chainsaws, push mowers, hedge trimmers, spades, is essential.

Also experience with construction of fences, retaining walls, pathways/patios is a bonus, but not essential. A strong focus on Health and Safety and a fun and conscientious team player who can think on their feet.
