Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Detailing Manager to oversee daily operations of our vehicle detailing business. This role involves managing staff, ensuring high-quality detailing services, handling customer expectations, and performing detailing and basic grooming tasks when required. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day detailing operations to ensure efficiency and productivity
- Schedule jobs and allocate tasks to team members
- Ensure all vehicles are completed to high-quality standards and within timeframes
- Monitor workflow and improve operational processes
Staff Supervision
- Supervise, train, and support detailing and grooming staff
- Conduct performance checks and provide feedback
- Ensure staff follow company procedures and safety standards
Vehicle Detailing & Grooming
- Perform interior and exterior detailing when required
- Carry out basic car grooming tasks during busy periods or on demand, including:
- Exterior washing and drying
- Interior vacuuming and wipe-down
- Tyre cleaning and dressing
- Vehicle presentation for delivery
Customer Service
- Interact with customers professionally and address enquiries
- Ensure customer satisfaction and handle complaints effectively
- Provide service recommendations and upsell detailing packages where appropriate
- Pickup and drop off of customer vehicles
Quality Control
- Inspect vehicles before and after service
- Ensure all work meets company and industry standards
- Maintain consistency in service delivery
Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure safe use of chemicals, tools, and equipment
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations
Inventory & Equipment Management
- Monitor stock levels of cleaning products and supplies
- Order materials as required
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and functional
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role will be highly preferred
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Full driver’s licence preferred
