Job Description

English Language Teachers at ABC College of English are responsible for delivering high-quality English language instruction, contributing to academic administration, and participating in the wider professional and academic life of the school.

The successful applicants will have the following knowledge, skills and attributes:

  • Must have a recognised ESL teaching qualification (e.g. CELTA, TEFL, Trinity Cert or equivalent)

  • Must have min 2 years experience teaching above 18 year-olds

  • Experience delivering face-to-face and a good understanding of technology (AI) for teaching.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Responsive and supportive to student needs with a strong focus on students’ educational outcomes.

  • Passionate about working in a multi-cultural environment

  • Professional attitude, reliable and timely in all aspects of record-keeping and other administrative duties

  • A person who displays enthusiasm for the job and can work effectively in a team.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver professional, engaging lessons aligned with programme outcomes

  • Maintain accurate records of lessons taught and resources used

  • Build and maintain positive rapport with students and colleagues

  • Write progress and leaving reports for students

  • Administer and mark progress tests and assessments

  • Maintain accurate attendance records

  • Participate in scheduled lesson observations and feedback processes

  • Provide a safe, inclusive, and attractive learning environment

  • Learn and utilise ABC College of English teaching resources effectively

  • Assist and support colleagues, particularly new teaching staff

Indicative Hours:

The role is expected to involve up to 20 contact teaching hours per week plus 10 administrative hours per week, depending on the number of classes assigned. The standard teaching structure includes 4 contact teaching hours per day, scheduled between 8:30am and 1:00pm, and includes a 30 minute unpaid break.
