Driver/Customer Services Representative – Mainland Linen Services

Job Description

We’re looking for a permanent Queenstown based, Driver/Customer Services Representative to join our Mainland Linen Services logistics team, transporting clean and used linen between our Queenstown and Wanaka branches.

This is a hands-on driving and customer service role, completing regular deliveries and collections throughout Queenstown, Wanaka and surrounding areas. You’ll be responsible for delivering clean linen to customers, collecting used linen and providing friendly, reliable service while building positive relationships with customers along your run.

The role would suit someone who enjoys driving, dealing with customers and is comfortable with the physical side of the job. Loading and unloading is a significant part of each workday, involving repetitive lifting and the movement of linen bags and cages, so a good level of physical fitness is essential.

About us:

Building on over a century of experience through the Preens brand, we provide dry cleaning, textile rental, and linen services to businesses across Otago. Our services include retail dry cleaning through Preens, professional workwear solutions through Apparelmaster, and commercial linen and towel rental through Linenmaster and Mainland Linen.

Our Central Otago operation is supported by our Dunedin laundry, which is home to some of the South Island’s most advanced commercial laundry equipment. In 2025, we commissioned Australasia’s first commercial 2MW electric boiler, powered by 100% certified renewable electricity. This investment has significantly reduced our emissions and water use, making our Dunedin operation one of the lowest-emission commercial laundries in the world.

We offer our employees regular daytime working hours, overtime opportunities, weekly pay, training opportunities, PPE gear provided, and staff benefits such as paid appointment leave and n3 employee discounts.

About the Role:

The role is Monday to Friday, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Daily hours may increase during busier periods in line with customer volumes and operational requirements, and some Saturday work may also be required.

Applicants should therefore be comfortable working longer days and having some flexibility in their working hours, particularly during peak season.

Key Responsibilities include:

·         Completing customer deliveries and collections throughout Queenstown, Wanaka and surrounding areas accurately and on time.

·         Providing friendly, professional service and building positive relationships with customers along the route.

·         Accurately pick customer orders from stock carried in the vehicle, ensuring the correct products and quantities are delivered.

·         Loading and unloading clean and used linen and other products throughout the day.

·         Driving safely and appropriately for changing road, traffic and weather conditions.

·         Communicating any customer requests, changes or service issues to the Branch Managers.

·         Keeping the vehicle clean, presentable and ready for use.

·         Training on other delivery runs and providing cover where reasonably required.

About you:

Reliability and safe driving are really important to us. We need someone who turns up on time, is comfortable with driving and can be trusted to complete their run safely and efficiently without constant supervision.

You’ll ideally bring:

·         Previous driving, delivery or customer service experience.

·         A strong focus on safe and responsible driving.

·         The ability to manage your time and complete scheduled deliveries and collections within required timeframes.

·         Strong communication and customer service skills, with a friendly and professional approach.

·         The ability to work independently and take responsibility for completing your assigned run.

·         A practical, flexible and cooperative approach.

·         The physical capability to regularly load and unload vehicles and safely move linen, stillages, and cages.

Essential Requirements:

·         A full, clean NZ Class 1 Driver Licence, with confidence driving large commercial vans and the ability to drive manual vehicles, is essential.

·         Must be based in Queenstown.

Full training will be provided in our systems, routes and industry-specific processes. All company vehicles are fitted with EROAD for safety monitoring and KPI reporting.

If you feel you have the necessary qualities to fill this role, please apply with a CV and cover letter to Gabrielle Julius (People & Capability Manager) via hr@imageservices.co.nz.

Applicants must already have the legal right to work in New Zealand.

Applications will be processed upon receipt.
