Position Overview

As a Demi Chef at QT Queenstown, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality dishes across our kitchens, supporting senior chefs while continuing to build your craft. This is a hands-on role where consistency, technique and passion come together — perfect for someone ready to take the next step in their culinary career.

This is a permanent full-time role with a minimum guaranteed hours of 40 per week. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook and present dishes in line with established recipes and QT standards.
  • Work closely with the Chef de Partie to prioritise daily tasks and service requirements.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a safe, hygienic and efficient manner.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety and kitchen organisation.
  • Minimise wastage through effective stock rotation and portion control.
  • Assist in training and supporting junior kitchen team members.

What You’ll Bring

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen as a chef. 
  • Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn and passion for hospitality.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
